In certain circumstances, such as a disaster or emergency, it may become necessary for certain members of the community to evacuate for their safety. In some cases other means of evacuation or shelter may be more appropriate and residents will be advised accordingly.
If asked to evacuate, residents are strongly encouraged to seek refuge with family or friends in the first instance and if unable to make alternative arrangements, temporary short term accommodation may be available at designated evacuation centres throughout the city. Residents are advised to make arrangements for pets as some evacuation centres may be unable to accommodate them.
Logan City Council has identified a number of suitable locations across the city for use as evacuation centres, and will be displayed below if opened.
