Bushfire at Carbrook - 5.15pm update Thursday 18 February

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews will remain on scene at a vegetation fire burning near Beenleigh-Redland Bay Rd and west of Teviot Rd at Carbrook over the coming days.

The fire broke out on Sunday and is currently contained. It is posing no threat to property at this time.

Firefighters will spend the next few days dampening down and patrolling the fire.

Light to moderate smoke is expected to affect the area over the next 72 hours.

Residents are asked to close windows and doors and to keep medications close by if they have a respiratory condition.

Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. If residents are concerned their property is under threat, they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
