Bushfire at Carbrook - 9am update, Thursday 18 February

Eleven Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews remain on scene at a large vegetation fire burning near Beenleigh-Redland Bay Rd and west of Teviot Rd, at Carbrook.

The fire, which broke out on Sunday, is burning safely within containment lines and is currently posing no threat to properties.

Firefighters are patrolling the fire and will continue to conduct backburning operations throughout today and as a result smoke will continue to be visible. Residents are advised to shut windows and doors.

Those who suffer from respiratory illnesses should keep medications close by. Motorists are advised to drive to conditions and be aware of traffic control and emergency services vehicles in the area.

If residents feel their property is under threat they should contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
