Disaster comes to the big screen

When disaster strikes it pays to be prepared.

But knowing how to prepare isn’t easy, that’s why Logan City Council and Get Ready Queensland have come up with an animation that tells you how you and your family can stay safe.

Told through the eyes of the Kalui family, the animation is a fun way of showing the dangers that our weather can throw at you, and how to protect your home and maximise your chances of survival before and after a major weather event.

It can be found on Logan City Council’s Facebook page and on the Disaster Dashboard.

Acting Mayor Cherie Dalley said the animation is a Council’s way of ensuring residents stay safe during storm season.

“As we know all too well in South East Queensland, storms and flash flooding can strike at any time and can have devastating consequences,” Cr Dalley said.

“But getting the message across about what to do during inclement weather can be difficult that’s why we’ve developed this animation.

“It’s fun and informative and most importantly it could save you a lot of trouble one day.”
