UPDATE 8AM FRIDAY: Logan River is rising

Residents in low lying areas close to the Logan River between Waterford and the Maclean Bridge need to monitor their situation are urged to seek higher ground to ensure their safety as water levels are rising quickly.

The expected flood level is expected to exceed 2013 levels.

If you are in a flood prone area please consider moving to higher ground. If you need assistance call 3412 3412 or if there is a life-threatening emergency dial 000.

For those residents unable to relocate to family or friends, an evacuation centre is open at the Beenleigh & Districts Senior Citizens and Beenleigh PCYC, 20-38 Alamein Street, Beenleigh.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed and up to date by visiting disaster@logan.qld.gov.au
